DTEC and the Smallholder Farmers Alliance (SFA) of Haiti agreed to collectively develop ecoclimate forest reserves and enhanced agroforestry systems on an expanded SFA landbase. Over 10 years this will mean restoration of more than 6000ha of degraded savannah and will substantially increase SFA-member household income as well as strengthening food security in earthquake and hurricane-ravaged parts of Haiti.
Strengthening food security in earthquake and hurricane-ravaged parts of Haiti
DTEC is assisting the SFA, SFA subsidiary Smallholder Data Services (SDS) as well as a consortium of other companies and organisations in developing an exciting new app that will allow SFA members, and millions of others around the world, to track and report on their regenerative agriculture practices. DTEC has been asked to bring its forest carbon project origination/development expertise to assist professionals from a group of stakeholder companies and NGOs, such as Terra Genesis, Acceso and Farafeno, working alongside data management and software companies Ayiti Analytics Data Laboratory of Haiti and Data Economics Company (DECO) of California. DTEC will use this new App in its own project development in Haiti and other countries.
